Team Ninja’s Nioh is quickly, quietly but stylishly becoming one of the more anticipated titles of next year and with the latest trailer for the Eastern-orientated, dark fantasy action title debuting at today’s PlayStation Experience, that anticipation has only grown. But for those who will be investing in — or may have already invested in — a PS4 Pro, the developers have confirmed that Nioh will offer players a choice of resolution and performance. During a developer session at PlayStation Experience, two options were confirmed for the game: “Movie Mode” which appears to run at 30FPS with higher resolution and “Action” mode that focuses more on targeting 60FPS at 1080p resolution.
Though brief, the trailer was quick to showcase the array of human, humanoid and demonic foes alike that players will go up against within the game’s 17th century civil war-ravished setting — using the game’s allotment of weapons and items to combat the game’s many adversaries along the way. Team Ninja state that the game’s main single player campaign will take players around 70 hours to complete so expect the in-game challenge to be long and gruelling, but hopefully enjoyable nonetheless. Nioh will be available for PS4, February 7 in North America and a day later in Europe.
